We’re partnering with Spokane Public Library to kick off yuletide celebration and make the holiday season merry and bright. You’ll hear Asian winter solstice stories and learn to create your very own Parol — a radiant star-shaped Christmas lantern cherished in the Philippines.

Youth Arts Specialist Remelisa Cullitan will guide us through this hands-on cultural craft, sharing the meaning behind this tradition as we build our lanterns together.

🎨 About the artist

Remelisa Cullitan is the Spokane Public Library’s Youth Arts Specialist and a professional artist. They are excited to share a part of their culture from the Philippines through this Parol making activity.
