Boba Buddies: KOREAN AMERICAN DAY CELEBRATION

The Hive - Spokane Public Library (2904 E Sprague Ave, Spokane, WA 99202) / Events B Room (we will send entry code after registration)

Celebrate Korean American Day with us! We will watch some video stories, eat yummy Korean food, and Spokane activist Sam Lee will teach us how to weave and make our own norigae charms!

Please bring your reusable boba cups if you got one already! For those who have not received their free #BobaBuddies reusable cups, make sure to RSVP to get one (for K-12 youth only).

About our guest facilitator

Sam Lee was born and raised in Spokane by Korean immigrant parents. They are excited to be in community with other Asian folks that want to build a world that centers social justice. They are inspired by storytelling in all its various forms. Singing, writing, drawing, and makeup are mediums for their creative expression. Sam loves sparkles, clouds, and bright colors.

______

Boba Buddies is an affinity group and monthly youth program for K-12 Asian and Asian American students in the Spokane area. Each session creates a space of belonging engaging the community in understanding and nurturing cultural identities. The program includes educational activities, creative play, and a communal space for Asian/Asian American youth and their parents/guardians to hang out. We provide refreshments and some months will have special guests!

This program is mainly organized for Asian and Asian American families but we have selected events that we open up to the public

Shout out to our #BobaBuddies partner, Teas Company!
